MCK Joins OMPHOBBY Jiangmen RC Flight Meetup

Apr 30, 2026

The OMPHOBBY Jiangmen RC flight meetup came to a successful close, bringing together experienced pilots, local RC enthusiasts, and flight hobbyists for a full day of flying, sharing, and hands-on exchange. Held in a dedicated outdoor flying area in Jiangmen, Guangdong, the event created a real field environment for pilots to test aircraft, compare setups, enjoy live demonstrations, and connect with others who share the same passion for RC aviation. This was not just a product display. It was a field gathering built around real pilots, real aircraft, real flying conditions, and the community behind every flight.

World Champion MCK Takes the Stage with the OMPHOBBY M7R

One of the biggest highlights of the event was the appearance of world champion pilot MCK, who delivered an exciting 3D helicopter flight demonstration with the OMPHOBBY M7R.

With fast transitions, aggressive maneuvers, and precise control, the M7R showed strong power delivery and a confident in-air presence throughout the demonstration. In the hands of a top-level pilot, the aircraft gave spectators a close look at what a high-performance 700-class RC helicopter can deliver under demanding 3D flight conditions.

M7R Flight Setup Used at the Event

For reference, the M7R flown at the event used the following setup:

Motor: SUNNYSKY 4530R-540KV

Servos: THETA C1 T1

ESC: SCORPION 220A ESC

Main Blades: VENTURE 716mm

Battery: GENS ACE 44.4V 6000mAh

Gyro: RADIOMASTER NEXUS XR Gyro

According to the pilot’s field experience, this M7R has completed nearly 200 flights while still using several original factory components, including the main landing gear, one-way bearing, and drive belt. For high-intensity 3D flying, that kind of consistency reflects the model’s mechanical strength, structural reliability, and repeatable flight performance.

For pilots interested in larger OMPHOBBY helicopters, the M7R remains an important model in the brand’s high-performance helicopter lineup. It is built for experienced pilots who value power, precision, mechanical confidence, and consistent flight behavior.

M2 V3 Sport Dual Flight Performance

The event was not only about large-scale 3D helicopter performance. Another memorable moment came from the dual flight demonstration by Suyi and Bianzi.

Flying two OMPHOBBY M2 V3 Sport helicopters together, they brought a lively and engaging performance to the field. The synchronized movement of two compact helicopters created a fun and energetic moment for the audience.

Bianzi showed confidence throughout the flight, having already performed in front of audiences multiple times. Suyi also delivered an excellent performance. Near the end of the flight, her helicopter had a slight ground contact during landing, resulting only in minor cosmetic scratches and no impact on normal operation.

The M2 V3 Sport is a compact RC helicopter built for pilots who want responsive control, stable handling, and practical everyday flying performance. Its size makes it easy to bring to the field, while its flight capability gives both developing pilots and experienced flyers a reliable platform for regular practice.

Technical Sharing from Bao Jiawen

The meetup also featured Bao Jiawen, one of China’s leading RC helicopter pilots and a core contributor in the Rotorflight community.

With both hands-on flight experience and technical development knowledge, Bao shared useful insights from a pilot’s perspective and a tuning perspective. His participation added more depth to the event, giving attendees not only exciting flight demonstrations but also practical discussion around setup, control behavior, and real-world flying experience. In RC flying, the aircraft is only one part of the system. Airframe design, electronics, power setup, transmitter control, flight controller tuning, and pilot input all work together. Field events like this give pilots a chance to observe those details directly and learn from one another in a practical environment.

BIGHORN Balsa RC Airplane Adds Fixed-Wing Energy to the Field

In addition to helicopters, OMPHOBBY also presented its BIGHORN balsa RC airplane at the Jiangmen meetup.

The large-format fixed-wing aircraft brought a different kind of visual impact to the event. With its strong field presence and aerobatic capability, the BIGHORN delivered an impressive fixed-wing performance for the audience.

MCK typically flies with a Japanese-style transmitter mode, while the fixed-wing aircraft at the event was set up with a standard American-style control mode. Even with this difference, he was able to complete inverted flight and aerobatic maneuvers smoothly, adding another exciting highlight to the day.

BIGHORN Reference Setup

The BIGHORN aircraft shown at the event used the following reference configuration:

Motor: 3rd Gen 7020 195KV / DA35 / DLE65 / GP76 options

ESC: 130A HV with BEC 7.4V 10A

Servos: SG30 metal case, metal gear servos ×7

Recommended Servo Torque: 30kg and above ×8

Battery: 12S 4000–6000mAh

For pilots comparing large RC airplanes, field performance matters. A model needs to be visible, predictable, practical to operate, and confidence-inspiring during repeated flights. The BIGHORN showed those qualities in a real outdoor flying environment.

More Than a Product Demonstration

The Jiangmen meetup was more than a flight show. It was a chance for pilots to exchange experience, compare aircraft setups, discuss mechanical details, and enjoy the hobby together.

For newer pilots, seeing different aircraft prepared side by side makes the hobby easier to understand. They can observe how pilots organize batteries, check linkages, inspect blades, prepare radio systems, and handle pre-flight routines.

For advanced pilots, the value is different. They look closely at response, power delivery, rotor behavior, servo precision, frame stiffness, setup consistency, and how each aircraft holds up across repeated flights.

That is why field gatherings are valuable. They give aircraft credibility outside the product page and allow pilots to experience performance in a real flying environment.

Built Around Flying, Learning, and Community

From MCK’s M7R 3D helicopter demonstration to the M2 V3 Sport dual flight, from Bao Jiawen’s technical sharing to the BIGHORN fixed-wing performance, the event brought together different parts of the OMPHOBBY flying ecosystem.

OMPHOBBY would like to thank MCK and Bao Jiawen for their support, professional sharing, and outstanding flight demonstrations. We also sincerely thank every pilot, hobbyist, and friend who joined us in Jiangmen.

The Jiangmen RC flight meetup has come to a successful close, but the passion for flying continues.

Stay connected with OMPHOBBY and see you at the next flight event.
